Same ol' SHIT.. literally!

I took the dogs to the park yesterday (it was long overdue and they deserved it) and it was surprisingly crowded for a Tuesday.. so we only stayed for about 30 minutes. They were still exhausted, none the less! We came home.. and then I was basically here all day until I went out to dinner at 6. I  was only gone for a little over an hour and what do I come home to? A big pile of poop (the hard to clean up kind) on my freshly cleaned carpets!

Obviously we know who the culprit is. He wont even come near me as I sit on my hands and knees gently trying to scrub it out (and then vigorously as I get even angrier!). I just don't understand it. It typically only happens when Thomas is out of town. And not only that, but he was with my parents for almost a month while we were moving and they did not have a SINGLE issue. I guess it's just something special that he's doing for his mom. Is this because of the brief banana costume fitting at Halloween? Because I could of apologized for that.

So- I've come to the conclusion that we need a dog room. Yep. Its happening. We don't have a formal dining room suite anymore (we sold it before moving) so I've decided to get some nice wooden gates for both of the entrances to that room. It's a wood floored area.. and that way if there are ever ANY accidents, he can be contained.

We just bought a beautiful new rug to go under our breakfast table. Let me just say.. It would not be as forgiving as our carpet is. So I need to protect it at all cost!

I sure love my Harley boy.. but I am at my WITS end. He gets special food, special treats, lots of walks, a daily dose of Anxiety meds.. and STILL we get POOP!

So its happening. Doggy room here we come.

Happy Hump Day.

A Georgia Peach once more!

I am FINALLY in Georgia and on my way to being settled. Mom and I arrived a week ago today actually! We were able to do a couple of days of unpacking before Thomas and I both took her back to Salisbury. It was a nice quick visit home.. but Im glad to be back and Im anxious to get things settled around here!

Mom and I had a very uneventful ride. Our first day on the road (Saturday) was a long one. We were driving through back country Texas and we were tempted to stop just about everywhere!! Lots of antique stores.. a couple winery's.. you name it and we probably stopped there! It was sad to see the GPS go from a 6:00 arrival time to a 9:00 arrival time.
HOWEVER- we scored some pretty cool items- we both got some Texas wine (that was only sold locally), I got a torquise ring, an old green glass jar, and a texas star, and mom got a larger texas star, a shirt, and a birthday present for a friend.

We stayed in New Orleans on Saturday night. Its kind of the half way point and worked out really well for Thomas and I on our last cross country trip. And just a little fact for any dog owners out there.. you can stay at any LaQuinta with pets and its free. I know LaQuinta's can be hit or miss.. but I really try and research and find the good ones! Other hotels can be up to $150 more a night.

The next day (Sunday) we drove more of a non-stop route and were able to make it to our house in Georgia by dinner time. We got home and then went out to dinner before calling it a night. Needless to say I was very happy to be reunited with my husband, dogs, and home!

Thomas had a meeting in Concord this week.. so it worked out great for us to all head to North Carolina on Tuesday to take my mom home. He was able to get in a couple days at their concord office.. and I was able to spend some time with my family (especially Clara.. who is crawling everywhere and into everything!).

Thomas and I headed back to Georgia on Friday. Again- a few stops were made along the way (story of our life).. but they paid off as well! We stopped in Gaffney at the rug outlet and got a new rug to go under our breakfast table. We also went into Brooks Brothers to get Thomas a couple work clothes items and we literally bought out the store. They were having their 70% off sale and it must of just started because we scored some great items. I got a sweater and collared shirt.. and Thomas got 4 shirts and a sweater.. all for just over $100. That is unheard of for Brooks Brothers!

This weekend has been equally busy. Yesterday, we had our little friend Paisley's 2nd birthday party.. followed by dinner at their house. And today we're finishing up some last minute stuff around the house (that I need help with from Thomas that is). He's going out of town all this coming week.. so Im getting the help while I can! Sadly, we'll just be spending the super bowl here at home.. but I'm hoping to make a couple goodies for us!

OH! One last important thing I forgot to mention.. Thomas and I have finally gotten our gym memberships back in order. We never joined a gym in Austin.. so it was definitely time. We werent thrilled about the thought of going back to LA Fitness.. so we decided to venture out this time. In the end, Thomas decided on Golds Gym.. and I'll be going to Lifetime Fitness. It's so nice.. I cant even tell you! Full lap pool (inside and outside), towel service, tons of classes and a separate yoga studio, amazing locker rooms, smoothie and snack bar, the works! Im so excited to work out there! Thomas was equally impressed.. but as Im sure you can imagine, it's much pricier than other gyms and he doesnt feel like he would get his ROI by going there since he's traveling a lot (his terms.. not mine). Therefore, we've decided to go to different gyms for awhile.. but I think it'll go ok. I went for the first time yesterday.. and may go to a yoga class with Lyndsay today and Im so excited! (lame. I know.)

That's it for now. Sorry for the long post. I was definitely behind on my blog this week and wanted to let everyone know how things are.

And for those of you that don't know or didnt see the facebook post, little Parker passed away last week. It was very sad and the family is definitely trying to find peace within the situation. But I can tell their certainly thankful for all the support they've gotten from their friends and family. Unfortunately, Thomas and I were not able to attend the funeral, but we've been thinking about them a lot. Im glad that they have such a large support group!

Hope that everyone has a good week!
